70th Independence Day celebrations
Dear Residents,
We are delighted to invite
you to the Independence Day celebrations on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 8.30 am
onwards at the Pooja
Park , in our Pocket.
The flag hoisting by the
Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Kumar, MLA, will be followed by a variety of cultural
programmes and lunch.
Here comes a question in all
our minds, why do we celebrate Independence Day?
Everyone inIndia knows that
India got freedom from the
300 years of British Rule at the stroke of midnight as India moved
towardsAugust 15, 1947. Many of us know even the stories of struggle for
independence as well. There have been millions of lives that sacrificed for
this freedom and many of them are not even known or remembered. Even after
70 years of independence, we celebrate the day with utmost serenity and
commitment because we know the struggle and sacrifices our freedom fighters did
to gain independence for our Mother India.
Everyone in
The most important fact is
that we remember and pay homage to these legends on
this auspicious day. It is important for all Indian to think and pay respect to
those who died for the country. There are virtually many reasons and ways of
celebrating Independence Day. Varieties of contests, promotions and cultural
programs are organized.
On this occasion, we would
like to honour the senior citizens in our society. We, therefore, request all
the senior citizens in our pocket to treat this as a personal invitation to
them attend the function.
And we also plan to
felicitate our children who have worked hard and scored good marks in their
Class 10 and 12 examinations recently. So, dear and girls and boys, if you have
scored 90 per cent or above, please share a copy of your mark sheet with Mr
Reji Jacob in 157-A (M) 9811590590 or Mrs Prabha Agrawal in 32-A (M) 9818199513
by August 12, 2016. Ten top achievers
from Classes10 and 12 will be selected for the awards.
We look forward to your
active participation and support at the function with family. This is an
opportunity to get to know each other better. So please stay for lunch,
though it is in a small way. Happy
Independence Day. Jai Hind.
